Welcome to Sewing Shed Stroud

We are offering sewing classes and textile workshops in Stroud, Gloucestershire, at the edge of the Cotswold in a beautiful wooden Sewing Shed.

At the Sewing Shed,

We work in small groups so there is enough time to ask questions, discuss individual needs and explore design possibilities. You will be closely guided throughout the process of creating your product.

There are a wide variety of courses on offer which are suitable for varied abilities and different interests. So you could be working on a textile art piece focussing on structure, colour and composition, creating your child's wardrobe or up-cycling a beloved jumper or other garment..

I absolutely loved the Dressmaking for Beginners course. Martha is a great teacher and the 'shed' is great. Really happy with the dress I made. Have already done the Sewing for Beginners course (loved that one as well)

I did the beginners dressmaking course. I learnt lots of really useful tips that would be useful for sewing any kind of garment, to make it look more professional and less homemade.

My love for sewing and making was there right from the word go. As a child I used to go every Wednesday and Saturday afternoon to my aunt. Her 2 grown up kids were hardly there as opposed to my family where there were another 5 siblings and a busy family business which was run from our home. So I loved the quiet and calm atmosphere at my aunts house.
