Information about the course:
You will be starting the course with an introduction in how to use a sewing machine. This means using different stitches and getting control over your machine. From there on you will be improving and building your skillset by making 2 different projects. To finish off you will be making a button and buttonhole sample.
If you prefer you can bring your own sewing machine as long as it is in good working order. Alternatively, you can use one of our bernina sewing machines.
The knowledge and expertise you gain will be:
– Getting control of the sewing machine.
– Mastering a variety of seams, stitches and finishings.
– Learn how to cut fabric and be making accurate measurements in fabrics.
– Get an understanding about grain lines and selvedges.
– Experiment with colours, pattern and fabric properties.
– How to sew on a button and making a buttonhole.
